The Environmental Project Scientist is responsible for ensuring the success of Wescoms environmental
projects in the Permian location. This division includes inspection, cleanup, and reporting related to all
environmental remediation work. The Project Scientist is responsible for all associated items including
responding to client requests for inspections, spill cleanup projects, proposal requests, report writing,
submission of reports to government agencies, and coordinating crews in conjunction with the
Environmental and Mechanical Managers to accomplish assigned projects. Through daily contact of with
Environmental Field Technicians and Environmental Manager manger via phone, email, and texts, the
environmental project manager will ensure client satisfaction is attained at a high level. All employees
must act with urgency, accountability, and flexibility to ensure Wescoms core values are always followed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
AND DUTIES
- Understand and adhere to New Mexico and Texas Regulations in reference
to Air Quality, Soil Remediation and Reclamation especially regarding the
Oil & Gas Industry.
- Promptly respond to client proposal and assistance requests related to
environmental projects including Air Quality inspections, spill response and
cleanups, and internal and government reporting.
- Assign crews, assets, and other resources to successfully complete spill
clean-up projects.
- Ensure prompt reporting as required by clients for further reporting
including photos, reports, and other documents on projects.
- Schedule, track, and report on Air Quality inspections and follow up.
- Develop, initiate, and maintain programs to further environmental
department growth.

- Collaborate with Environmental Manager and supervisors to ensure proper
equipment training and operation of crews assigned to environmental
work.
- Train assigned employees on daily procedures related to environmental
tasks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and other vendors
ensuring they follow Wescom core values for reporting, sampling, and
other required third-party services.
- Communicate to employees, management & clients with cheerfulness and
a willingness to help.
- Be an active safety role model and follow all safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of the New Mexico and Texas laws and regulations associated
with the Oil & Gas Industry and Air Quality.
- A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Geology or similar OR,
- 6 years of Environmental Consulting experience specifically related to the
Oil & Gas Industry.
- Ability to stay focused and complete tasks in challenging and fast paced
environment.
Lift over 50 lbs.
SALARY $70,000/year + depending on experience / salary position
HOURS Expect 50 hours a week with a start time of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM M-F with
occasional overtime as needed.
CAREER PATH The Environmental Project Manager reports to the Environmental Manager. There
are several career paths available to the right individual including moving to other
leadership roles of safety, finance, and operations. Additionally, the
Environmental Project Manager could move into a non-leadership role such as
crew supervisor. Wescom believes in people and is always willing to explore
