Each Wescom employee knows and lives by the importance of safety while working and in everyday life. We are not only Wescom at work- we are Wescom always; that’s how Wescom WINS.
This commitment to safety extends beyond PPE, tools and training; it ensures that every employee goes home safely and remains safe at home. With the Holidays approaching, Wescom wants you to enjoy this Holiday season to the fullest. Below are some safety tips to bring you into the New Year safe and sound.
Holiday Safety Tips:
- While out shopping, park in a well-lit area and always lock your vehicle.
- If you have travel plans this Holiday season, don’t post too many personal details on social media. You don’t want to broadcast an empty house!
- Always keep your house locked- windows and doors.
- If you put up a tree (real or fake) in your home, keep it away from heat sources. Pro tip: there are fire resistant fake trees you can purchase!
- Avoid porch pirates by delivering your packages to your work or use ship to store options.
- Never leave fireplaces or candles burning unattended. And remember to clean your chimney at least once a year.
- If you are gifting to young children, remember to avoid choking hazards and batteries can be harmful or fatal if swallowed.
- Make sure your kids know their full name, address and a trusted adults phone number.
- Wash ya hands- ya filthy animals! When handling food, especially for others, wash your hands often to avoid contamination.
- And always remember: Don’t drink and drive, find a sober ride.
Use these tips this Holiday season to stay safe at home and at work!
Happy Holidays from Wescom to you and yours!
